A while back, musicians and their supporters were expressing concerns about the acquisition of BandCamp, first by Epic Games, then by Songtradr. So ... how is it all panning out?
Is buying music through BC still a good way to support the artists who make the music we love? Or do you recommend some other platform, or taking the time to find the act's homepage and follow the purchase instructions there?
@strypey I do always go to the artist's own website or socials to see what they recommend. But more often than not, it's still Bandcamp.
My impression is that the acquisition was cruel to Bandcamp's employees, but didn't much affect the experience for artists. It's depressing, but it seems like they got away with it.
