I asked the DBA for a spreadsheet of recent queries which she sent to me.
Slack has "Harnessed the Power of AI" and burned enough electricity to power my house for a year. Now it has determined that I have been sent: "This document appears to be a set of SQL queries and statements related to an application's database."
How is this adding anything to my life except wasting space on my screen?
Of all the rubbish and unwanted #AI garbage features that Slack have added to their web site recently this is one of the few that has an option to turn it off.
"NEW!" it says.
"Fuck off" I say, ticking the box.
(Just waiting for the AI bots to retoot this one as well.)

*9 Roger @futuresprog I used to like slack. Glad I don't still use it.
It had a point when it was “good enough” and then it’s just been a continual decline of adding unwanted features and moving things that were in perfectly fine places.
Everyone will pick a different point in time as the peak but we can probably all agree it was around 2023.
I only use it because I’m paid handsomely to use it.
