Is there something wrong with me as a hard-core technologist that I'm not even vaguely tempted to get a "virtual assistant" (a Siri, Alexa or MS' also ran, Cortana). In fact, when I hear others talk about them I kinda puke in my mouth a little.

For a bit of context, was listening to this podcast: talking about the selection of female voices for virtual assistants and the thinking behind it...


My Skullcandy earphones have the same female voice as the AED I used to use as a medic. The disconcerting bit is that after "power on," which the earphones also say, the AED would then say "connect electrodes" ...
