I'm starting to regret being such a cheerleader for the utopia of digital convergence. Anyone else starting to think that the transition to doing everything digitally would have been best done over 50 years, instead of 25, with a bit more risk assessment and forward planning by everyone involved?

@strypey But then we won't have video calling or mastodon today. It would have taken twice as long to reach us.

@farseen We would have them. But we wouldn't be expecting our Grandma to use it unless she's also a hacker. We certainly wouldn't have our governments having super secret executive meetings on Zoom .
