The voters themselves must be able to understand without detailed knowledge of computer technology whether their votes cast are recorded in an unadulterated manner as the basis of vote counting, or at any rate as the basis of a later recount."

i find this discussion fascinating to watch. here in germany, the federal constitutional court made a ruling on electronic voting, effectively banning it:

In the sick world of greed and "everything is a business" the concepts of curation, preservation, history are worthless. If there's no profit in it, let it rot... (why many libraries are shut down and books pulped)

Simple truism: today's #linuxfoundation does NOT represent #Linux but the 'Big Corp' ambition to >control< #linux (add #drm to it, put #swpats policies in it, drive out dissenting voices with Censorship Covenant) http://techrights.org/wiki/index.php/Linux_Foundation

The war on repair. Please people stop supporting this evil company.

Instead buy a decent laptop and put Linux on. Buy an Android phone that you can put a custom ROM on.

@alcinnz Uh, okay.

The operating system is called LENS. It's in Rust, but based on Linux to get a head-start, and not Unix-like, because Unix has grown a lot of warts over the years.
The application framework is an extensible/modular framework for building lightweight Web apps in Python using PostgreSQL almost-directly.
The other two are a (JS-less) replacement for HTML and a (flexible) replacement for HTTP. They're separate because HTTP is used for a lot of things besides HTML.

An official report for the Dutch government concluded:

“(Microsoft Office) systematically collects data on a large scale ... covertly, without informing people. … Microsoft does not offer any choice with regard to the amount of data, or possibility to switch off the collection.”

Don't use Microsoft Office, use LibreOffice instead 👍

It's free, open and you can get it here:

@lightweight @kev This is the purpose of the UEFI secure boot, so that you can have an unencrypted boot system (you have to have something unencrypted in order to do anything) and also have assurance that it hasn't been tampered with.

This is actually the cornerstone of encryption - you have to reveal your keys in order to decrypt, and you have to have assurance that the thing you're typing your keys into isn't evil.

askubuntu.com/questions/880240 has some info you might like, I haven't done this myself because I don't think dual boot is a sensible thing to have ever.

Gov't Canada'ss conclusions after a pilot of Rocket.Chat (instead of Slack or Discord or MSFT Teams): wiki.gccollab.ca/Enterprise_Di Note, also, that they control all their own data - it's not held in a corporate SaaS database, where they pay to access it, GC runs it in-house. Way better.

Does anyone know of a (curated) list of URLs of public EFA APIs (public transport)?

Do you know one for your own city maybe?

Please send them my way, I'm collecting them for an open-source project that lets you query public transport stops, timetables & routes:
