Spotted this ruru in a tree on my walk with the dog this morning...

The outlook over the magnificent Canterbury plains and Southern Alps this morning...

Latest batch of sourdough. This one has quinoa flour and carroway seeds in it...

Despite feeling rough today, I had to make good on my sourdough bargain (initiated yesterday by making dough) and now I can recuperate with yummy fresh bread, carroway + barley flour + strong wheat flour. And enigmatically named "fruit" (but quite lush - a bit of banana in there?) jam from the Indian grocery....

And, with a quick trip through the flooding to Hornby to collect the crucial bracket, we now have more cowbell. Thank goodness!

Ahhh. Alchemist on the hand pull. Situation: just fine.

And today we celebrate this lovely girl's 3rd birthday!

One advantage to working from home is that, instead of being strung out from commuting & adding disproportionately to our carbon deficit, I get to do stuff like this before work from time to time...

Also, yesterday on our morning walk, noticed this little spot along the road near our house... How cool is that?!

It's such a delight having such a well adjusted, easy going, smart, playful, loving, and obedient dog, who plays well with everyone, large or small. Lots of hair though.

Today: first baby steps in a long journey towards a perfect sourdough focaccia... Too bad we left our burgeoning rosemary bush behind at our old house...
