Reading theconversation.com/new-zealan I'm deeply disappointed by our gov't again shirking its responsibility to manage our environment guided by science. Our regional gov'ts appear to have broadly failed in their primary reason for existing - enforcing the (weak) regulations we already have - for a generation or more. This is not auspicious.

@lightweight None of our political parties are up to the task. No large country is going to bully us into it. The only thing I can see is drastic action by the UN, which will require overriding the vetos of the security council and trade wars that will make Trump's temper tantrum sanctions look pathetic.
