I'm wondering why the contact tracing app for NZ never explicitly says that it will (must be) open source to be trustworthy? I would've thought this was obvious. So why not state it explicitly? assets.documentcloud.org/docum

As basic contact tracing technology principles:
1. anyone should be able to audit the code, without requiring permission (i.e. fully open source)
2. any other country should be able to use it freely, and
3. no private interest (business) should be able to claim any property rights over this service or code.
This is for the greater good.
