Public schools in NZ are struggling to meet the new costs of IT. rnz.co.nz/news/national/404387 Much of that is because they're procuring almost entirely the wrong software and hardware, and are receiving ill-informed guidance from their ministry. I believe they could vastly reduce their costs while vastly increasing their educational value: davelane.nz/different-approach

@lightweight there was an NZ school that tried to go with libre software a few years ago. Do you know how that went?

@duncan_lithgow there were two - Warrington and Albany Highschool. Sadly, the champions went away, and the schools reverted to disempowering, expensive, low trust, US multinational corporate domination. Very sad.

@lightweight
The fact they're also answering the wrong questions doesn't help.
