If you don't understand Git, but would like to (and why wouldn't you - almost everyone's life would be improved by having that knowledge) here's a decent way to get your head around it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ffBJ4sVUb4
@lightweight what if you understand it but still loathe it? :(
Srsly, I need something like 'versioning for non-programmers' that isn't silo'd or centralized. And is easy/and/or automated. I just want versioned backups of things here and there, I'm not programming nor am I part of a team. I just write things.
@donblanco like touch typing, I think it's worth the effort to learn Git. Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible to simplify things as you describe (optimal usability makes things as simple as possible, and no simpler)...
@lightweight I type 95wpm. Still hate git lol
@donblanco it's hard to love Git, although it's not hard to appreciate its utility...
This video is also a fascinating glimpse into the world of hackers and Linux Conf (the 2019 edition of which, incidentally, will be in my home city of Christchurch next January - woohoo!)
